Temple ov Saturn - High Planes Drifter

This month I released High Planes Drifter on Bandcamp. Added a lap steel to the mix of instruments I use for sampling on this one. And this one features some synth additions from Dead Editor.

Week(s) in Review: January 16-February 5

Hello again, its been a while…

I moved a couple weeks ago and I’ve been settling into my house. I’ve also been working on a commercial job that is pretty demanding so I haven’t had a lot of time to do both of those things and work on my art. Now that I’m pretty much done unpacking and getting my place set up, I will have more time to work on art again. (Which I am excited to do because I have more space to actually do stuff)

Before I dive in to overviewing the few pieces I’ve made during the past couple of weeks, I want to note the passing of my friend Joe Pascarell. He was one of the first musicians I ever collaborated with. He’s on the first Whip Angels album, Ego Death.

He’s appeared on a few tracks over the years, my favorite being In The Beginning off of The Sacred Conjuration.

One of my favorite nights of my life was my 27th birthday party… Joe did a very special buchla performance at my loft. He was one of the most unique people I’ve ever met, his musical talent and knowledge was incredible. It was a honor to know him and I’m glad I had the opportunity to collaborate with him.

It’s hard to believe 2021 is coming to a close. As I mentioned last week, I have a lot going on in my personal life (buying a house, packing/moving, commercial work, and of course, I will be spending time with my family for the holidays). I spent most of the week packing only to find out the move in date is probably getting pushed into January. At least I’m pretty much ready to go. But that also means I’m living out of my suitcase longer than I thought. I probably won’t have much time this coming week to work on much new stuff so I think next week’s newsletter is going to be my Year in Review. I’m going to be really busy with work for the next 6 weeks, on top of painting and cleaning my new place moving in, and spending time with my family for the holidays. Its going to be pretty hectic for a while, but once the dust settles a bit I’ll in a better position to take my creative endeavors to the next level.

Because of Thanksgiving last week I was spending time with family and friends. I was otherwise busy finishing up some commissioned work so I figured I’d combine the one collage I made with this week’s newsletter.

In other news, I’m moving at the end of the month. I expect to be really busy packing / making the move so I don’t think I’ll have too much creative output until January. (Every time I move, I freak because my book collection alone makes the experience really overwhelming. I also have a lot of hobbies, so I have a lot of stuff.) I have a couple in-progress collages I want to try to wrap up this coming week and some commissioned/commercial work. Good news is, my new place will have a lot more space and I’ll be able to get back into doing some physical works.
