The end of the year is always a slow time for me when it comes to my creative output. Most of my energy goes to celebrating the holidays with my family and resting. The holiday season was a totally different experience for me this year now that I have a child. He is almost a year old! Its been hard working full time, adjusting to motherhood, and trying to maintain my creative work. However, now that he’s sleeping better, we have more of a routine, I foresee 2024 having a little bit of a comeback for me. It’s been good for me to step away from my art for a little while. The well of inspiration was starting to feel a bit dry, but that I’ve had so many new experiences, I’m ready to bring that into my art.

Thanks to everyone who has supported my work this year. I appriciate all the attention you’ve given to my work. Have a wonderful 2024 and stay tuned for more art.

I’ve been so busy that its been hard for me to keep up the previous pace of my creative work. I think I need to dial it back for the next few months until I finish some of these unrelated-to-my-art projects I’ve been working on. I really want to start something new anyways. I feel bored with my own work lately. I think I will probably pause the Substack version of these blog posts too. Its redundant and time consuming to post here on my own website just to duplicate it for the newsletter that hardly anyone reads. I’ll pick back up over there if I can come up with a more original way to use it.

This series of collages was commissioned by Invulnerable Nothings for their production of John Ford’s play The Broken Heart. The images were used in the playbill and some of my music was also featured. Invulnerable Nothings is a really wonderful performance collective, I highly recommend checking out their work.

I had some more medical tests this week so after being poked and prodded, I wasn’t feeling very attractive so I didn’t do much video/photo-wise. I felt really ‘off’ in general because of it all.

I have a show coming up on June 21st at Muchmore’s in Brooklyn and I will soon be announcing details for another Brooklyn show on July 27.
